RAG SATURDAY Y'ART SALES

Small mall @ Rosewood and S. Woodrow, across from Pizzaman Restaurant.

We periodically have a Y'ART SALE on Saturdays, 10-2. Specific details will be announced on our home page. There is generally no price limit on items to be sold; however, efforts are made to have affordable items.

To participate in these events, participants should plan on being set up by 15 minutes prior to the start time. There is ample space along the wall, sidewalk and patio areas. Please adjust to available space and numbers of participants. Provide your own tables, etc. and handle your own money. Reimburse for advertising ($11 @ Oct 6 event).

RECOMMENDED LICENSES: Participants should have a "retail tax license" from the State Department of Revenue (regular, or Artists and Craftsman which is only good for art/craft fairs) AND a "business License" from the City of Columbia. When inquiring at the appropriate office, consider saying that you are looking for licenses that allow you to participate in area arts and crafts fairs or festivals.

State sales tax: "Regular" or "Artists and Craftsman". A&C is only good for art and craft fairs - Regular would be for selling outside of art and craft fairs.

"If you sell arts and crafts which you make yourself, you can buy a special retail license for $20 to use for sales at arts and crafts shows and festivals. If you have no permanent retail location, you can purchase a transient retail license for $50 which will allow you to make sales throughout the state, but in only one location at a time."

City business license: possibly called a Festival license. According to a RAG member who recently got one... $25 for one year, or $10 per event. The one year license renews every Dec, and is $25 regardless of when you get it. Maybe cheaper to get the one time license. Price may be more if you do not live in Columiba. Cost of a regular business license may depend on the estimated amount of sales.
